· Enroll – Sign up for a Driver Education class at Copper Hills High School during arena scheduling
· Pay – Pay the $140 Jordan School District Fee for Drivers Ed in the CHHS Main office by day eight (8) of the

· Receipt – Bring the fee receipt to class and show it to the classroom teacher by day eight (8) of the quarter.

· Disclosure – Read and return the class disclosure sheet signed by the student and the parent/guardian by

· Fill Out Student Driver Card – Complete the student information section of the CHHS Driver Education
Student Card. A teacher will sign and record feedback on the card before returning it to Mr. Wright.
· Pass Written Permit Test – Pass the Utah State Written permit test with a score of 80% or better (40 or more correct answers out of 50 randomly selected questions). This can be done at the Utah State Drivers License

· Drive And Record Practice Hours – Drive and record 34 practice hours (10 of these hours must be after
dark or before dawn) with parent/guardian or a responsible adult following the legal conditions of the learner permit. You will receive six (6) hours of credit at CHHS for road and range driving.
· Pass Written Final Test – You must pass the Utah State Written test with a score of 80% or better. This can
be done at the USDLD or at CHHS at the end of the quarter.
· Complete Six (6) Hours or Driver Ed Instruction – You are required to complete six hours of Driver Ed
instruction on the road and range. It is your responsibility to schedule all your road and range times
with your assigned instructor.
· Pass The State Road Test – You must pass the Utah State road test with a score of no more than 20
deductions. You must finish all 34 practice hours before you can take this test. Road tests must be
scheduled with Mr. Wright before school. You are responsible to schedule your road test.
· Attend Class – You are required to attend a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction (21 block
schedule days).
· Complete and turn in all required assignments
· Pass the class with at least an 80% average.
· Turn 16 years of age.
· Possess a valid learner permit for at least six (6) months (if under the age of 18)
After successfully completing the above listed requirements at CHHS, take your learner permit, the $30 fee, two forms of proper identification (social security card and original/certified birth certificate – no mini birth certificate cards will be accepted), two forms of parental proof of Utah residency (vehicle registration, recent utility bills, bank/credit card statement), and go with a parent/guardian to the Drivers License Division (Don’t go to the DMV!!) to apply for an original Utah driver’s license.
